We have appreciated your attention to detail and we are thrilled with the results. The pond is certainly a great feature and I am sure will now be admired by everyone who visits us. Wrote Rosemary Cohen.

Creating a landscaped garden Print E-mail
An extraordinary landscaping project .

We were approached by Christopher Claridge-Ware in the autumn of 2003. He had recently bought an 35 acre estate near Chertsey in Surrey and wanted the lake improved. We looked at the lake and estimated for improvements to it. Clearing out the debris, removing the island reshaping the lake and remaking the dam.Mr and Mrs Claridge-Ware explained that the new house had not been landscaped in any way and talked of their ideas. We suggested that the area be surveyed and the Anthony du Gard Pasley FLI FSDG FSA Scot commissioned to draw up a master plan. After meeting the Claridge-Wares this he duly did. We also suggested that William Matthews OBE F,Arbor.A.,F I Hort be consulted to look over the woods he undertook a tree survey. We brought in our assosciates and undertook the lake work, fencing and built a new driveway through the woods concluding the first phase just before Christmas 2004.In the spring of 2005 we undertook the main groundworks about the house. These works engaged two teams of brickworkers as well as considerable groundworks building the retaining walls, fountain pond, paving, lawns, planting beds, arbor, walkways and planting beds. The hard landscaping and groundworks were concluded by early November 2005. and at time of writing we have completed the hedge planting and are waiting for the rabbit proofing to be completed before undertaking the planting to Mr Pasleys plan, hopefully before Christmas 2005. Meanwhile Mr Matthews teams have completed most of the heavy works in the woods. The project has been a delight not least because of the in enthousistic input of all the teams led and inspired by the Claridge-Wares.This gave flexability to the teams to suggest the most cost effective and optimum realisation when inevitably the location revealed it's secrets.A photo gallery of the completed garden will follow.22nd November 2005
