The Largest Lined Lake In Hampshire |

We were contacted by Mr Micheal Jackson in the spring of 2003.
This is a photo of the lake in the late summer a year after completion.
Mr and Mrs Michael Jackson approached us in th espring of 2003. They had recently purchased an estate in Ropley, Hampshire and were undertaking major works to the house. They wanted a trout lake in the paddock area. We costed this work using a butyl liner as the subsoil was chalk and would not hold water.
The works took most of the summer as the site had to be cleared and a large bund built using compacted chalk. The liner which was imported from Sweden had to be welded on site.
The lake which is in part 3.5metres deep ( for the well- being of the trout) was filled with water from a borehole on site, When filled and planted the paddock was landscaped and additional works including retaining walls, a stepped garden and tree planting undertaken.
A year later trout were introduced to the lake, at time of writing they are well established in a balanced envirement.
